🏆 Most Appreciated Employee

Crown a monthly champion
your team actually voted for.

The bot watches every kudos given throughout the month, then on the 1st it teases, lets the team guess, and reveals a podium-style poster of the top 3 — automatically. No spreadsheets, no HR nominations, no politics.

How the monthly award unfolds

Four moments, fully automated. Your team just keeps giving cookies — the bot does everything else.

1
All month long

Kudos pile up, quietly.

Every time someone sends a 🍪 cookie or kudos in Slack, the bot tallies it under the giver and the receiver. Nobody needs to nominate anyone — the data builds itself.

A message appears in your celebration channel — short, suspenseful, and impossible to scroll past. Replies start rolling in within minutes.

The big reveal.

A new top-level message announces the top 3, calls out everyone who guessed correctly, and attaches an auto-generated podium poster. The workspace admin also gets a private DM with a "Log as Achievement" button.

Why teams love it

⚖️

It's earned, not appointed.

The winner is whoever the team actually thanked the most. No manager picks favorites, no HR committee debates. The kudos are the ballot.

🎉

The reveal is a moment.

A teaser, a guessing game, a podium poster — the format turns a forgettable "employee of the month" email into something your team actually shows up for.

🤖

Zero HR effort.

No spreadsheets, no nominations form, no manual tallying. Set the celebration channel once and the cycle runs every single month, on its own.

🖼️

Auto-generated posters.

Every reveal includes a custom podium image with avatars, names, and counts — generated on the fly. Beautiful enough to share, screenshot, or pin to a wall.

🌍

Timezone-aware.

9 AM in London, 9 AM in Tokyo, 9 AM in San Francisco — each workspace fires at its own local time. Distributed teams get the same morning moment, no matter where they are.

🎯

Encourages everyday recognition.

Knowing the monthly award is real makes giving daily kudos feel meaningful — small thank-yous compound into something the whole team celebrates.

Setup is one click

Open the bot's App Home, head to Settings, and pick the channel where the monthly reveal should land. That's it — the MAE cycle takes care of itself from there.

Pick a celebration channel

From the bot's App Home tab, open Settings and choose the channel where you'd like the teaser and reveal to be posted — usually #general or #celebrations. No slash commands needed.

Common questions

Who picks the winner?

Nobody — and that's the point. The winner is determined purely by who received the most kudos from teammates over the previous calendar month. Ties are broken by who also gave the most kudos (rewarding two-way appreciation).

What happens if no one earned any kudos last month?

The bot quietly skips the month — no awkward "no winner" message gets posted. As soon as kudos start flowing again, the next month's cycle kicks back in normally.

Can we customize when the reveal happens?

The cycle runs on the 1st of each month at 9 AM in your workspace's local timezone. The 30-minute guess window between teaser and reveal is also fixed — but it's tuned to feel like a real morning moment, not a long wait.

Is it on every plan?

The Most Appreciated Employee feature is included in the Business plan. Free and Pro plans get birthdays, anniversaries, polls, and weekly kudos recaps — the MAE is the marquee feature for teams that want a monthly recognition ritual.

Does it run only once per month?

Yes — exactly once per workspace per month. The bot uses a unique record per teamId + month to make sure nobody ever gets a duplicate teaser or reveal.
