Which platforms does Clipnest run on?
Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPad and Android. Every device you pair shares the same clipboard history.
Does anything I copy leave my device?
Only to your own devices, and only over your own Wi-Fi. Nothing you copy ever reaches our servers, and there is no account for anyone to break into. On each device your history stays locked, readable only by Clipnest.
How does sync work?
Open Clipnest on the new device, scan the code your other device shows (on a PC you type its address instead), then type the six digits it gives you. That is it. Your devices stay in sync over your Wi-Fi, and one that was switched off catches up when it is back. Free and Pro both sync between all your devices. For now your devices need to share a Wi-Fi network; syncing from anywhere is on the way.
Can a stranger on my Wi-Fi join my clipboard?
No. Being on your Wi-Fi is not enough. A new device can only join when someone types the code shown on one of your own devices.
How does secret hiding work?
Copy a card number, a login code or a secret key and Clipnest recognises it instantly. It shows only a hint like CARD: 4111••••, keeps it out of search, and still pastes it when you need it. You can hide any clip yourself, or unhide one it got wrong. On your computer you can also tell Clipnest to ignore certain apps completely, and it skips whatever your password manager copies.
Why does it ask for permission to control my Mac?
Only so it can paste for you. After you pick a clip, Clipnest switches back to the app you were in and pastes it. If you would rather not allow it, Clipnest copies the clip and you paste it yourself. Nothing else is watched or recorded.
Does it sync photos and files as well as text?
Yes. Text, links, photos and files all sync to your devices. Free handles files up to 10 MB; Pro handles files of any size. Files you save land in a Clipnest folder on each device.

What happens to clips beyond the free 20?
They are still saved and still synced. A free device shows your latest 20 clips, with a last row that says how many more are waiting; delete one and the next older clip appears. Buy Pro and your whole history appears at once. If a purchase is refunded, the device goes back to the free view and nothing is deleted.
Why is Pro bought per platform?
Clipnest is made separately for each platform and you buy it right inside the app, so there is no account to create and nothing to sign in to. Buy it for the platforms you use and it is yours for good. One Apple purchase covers your iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Is there a subscription?
No. One payment per platform, and updates keep coming. The only thing that will ever be monthly is syncing from anywhere, because it is the only part that costs us money to run, and it stays optional. Skip it and nothing you paid for changes.
Some clipboard sync tools are free. Why pay for this one?
Free tools move a bit of text between two computers, and if that is all you need, use one. Clipnest gives you a history worth keeping: secrets hidden before anyone sees them, photos and files on every device, folders, snippets, screenshots you can search by the words inside, and everything locked on each device. No account, nothing to set up. Pay us the day your clipboard starts holding things you would not want read over your shoulder.
Why not just use Universal Clipboard?
Universal Clipboard only works between Apple devices and only carries the last thing you copied. There is no history, no search, and nothing at all for Windows or Android. Do I need to set up my own storage, like with Octoclip?
No. Octoclip's own documentation says its cloud sync runs through a storage account you supply and protect with a password. Clipnest needs none of that: your devices talk to each other directly.
